 got a line-up need a venue
« Thread Started on Oct 14, 2009, 11:24pm »

anyone know a decent venue where i can book a show with four or more bands nov. 14th? fuck all the clubs that want buku dollars for booking the place (besides most of them are booked already). i tried doing a benefit show but nothing is open that would generate enough money to make it even worth the effort. i just want a place where we can either a)put on a show for free or b)put on a show for 5000 won.

trying to book a show so andrew can play a set before he leaves. i don't give a shit if five people show up as long as this show goes down. i'm pretty fucking sick of all the bullshit money involved and the greasing of palms after working on that terror show so yeah let me know if anyone has any bright ideas.

Tentative line-up is:
Burn My Bridges
Chadburger (please Tel!)
Join the Circle
Shellback

know any bands that want to jump onboard let me know.

Best venues for free are DRUG, TA and Freebird late shows (after 1030pm). they have solid gear in all, best in TA / DRUG.

woud you consider suyuhell? its a small practice room in suyu (the friday fyfan show was there) chadburger have played there before and it was cool. Jongmin from burn my bridges runs it. they have free shows semi-regularly.

What a surprise.

Yogiga is where they have the Bulgasari shows. It's a good space, although kind of out there and hard to find for most of the people you'd want going to the show.

http://yogiga.com

Or our member cassettetape probably knows the best thing to do.

Yogiga probably isn't any harder to find than somewhere like Bowie is. It's only like a three-minute walk from Hapjeong Station and there are English maps kicking around online for it:

www.yogiga.com/yukie/01_liveschedule/Yogigamap/Yogigamap.htm

Good luck with finding a suitable venue!

so looks like we got a show @ bowie going on Nov. 14 with the following bands:

Shellback
No Excuse
Burn My Briges
Chadburger
Join The Circle

trying to make this a free show but the booking cost is 500,000 krw; anyone want to donate some cash so we can do this for free? every bit counts. also looking for more bands to turn this into a bigger show... so contact me if you want to do either.

I'll throw you some Korean-dollarbucks. We have practice in Hongdae on Sunday, 5-6pm I believe. Get in touch on facebook or by cellphone about meeting up, and I'll give you some. And then I'll hand over cash, too!

Does it really need to be free? Having a 5000 won show is basically just as good.

What time will it be?

I agree. If it's going to cost 500,000 won to rent the space having some kind of small cover charge (5,000 won or PWYC) likely wouldn't deter any people from coming. Am surprised the rental fee is that high for a potentially free gig.

Bump this thread back to the top. Looking forward to this show. Any idea yet as to the order of appearance of the bands? I'm contemplating catching the beginning of Battle of the Bands and then jetting over to this.

running order:

No Excuse
Join The Circle
Shellback
Chadburger
99Anger
Burn My Bridges

that's not in reverse order; No Excuse are playing first, Burn My Bridges are the last band to play

Haha. The running order totally changed. And The Geeks played 4~5 songs completely unannounced; apparently Joonseok went to Ki and said why don't we play a few songs. Bong wasn't there so Joon played bass, some other guy played guitar.

Join The Circle are the new best band in Korea.

Sukie is the coolest dog in the world.

(Sorry, if you want to see Verv and Paul kissing, you'll have to pay for some roofies.)
